T-mobile and Microsoft ® launch MDAIII

  • Windows Mobile™ based Pocket PC Phone Edition device with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPRS connectivity as well as full QWERTY keyboard
  • Putting the ‘Office in your Pocket™’

London, UK - 21 October, 2004: Today, T-Mobile and Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq ‘MSFT’) announce the launch of the MDA III – a simple and easy to use Windows Mobile™-based Pocket PC Phone Edition device with full QWERTY keyboard, as well as Wi-Fi, GPRS, GSM and Bluetooth capabilities.

Aimed in particular at the mobile professional, the MDA III is a small and sleek handheld device which provides a useful mobile office experience.  It helps give customers quick and simple access to information while on the move wherever and whenever they want it.

With the MDA III customers can synchronise with their Microsoft Outlook® on their PC, as well as use other familiar applications such as Microsoft Word®, Excel® and Internet Explorer®, together with camera and video facilities.

The tri-band device comes with an integrated slide down QWERTY keyboard, making typing far simpler for the user, especially for typing emails or text messages when on the move.

The T-Mobile MDA III represents the integration of T-Mobile’s extensive Wi-Fi network and leadership in ‘Office in your Pocket™’ services, along with Microsoft’s software platform expertise, to provide simple and useful mobile data services for business customers.

From today, the MDA III will be made available through T-Mobile’s direct sales channel in the UK at a price of £279.99.
