22nd  May 2006, London :  For all footie fans and others, T-Mobile UK is launching a special 25p per minute roaming rate for those traveling to Germany to watch the World Cup.

The rate is the same for making or receiving a call while abroad, for contract and for pre-pay customers, and is available as a bundle of 40 minutes of calls for just £10. It is available immediately until July 30th.  Text ‘GERMANY’ to short code 49017 and the 25p per minute rate will automatically apply. 

The offer follows T-Mobile’s announcement of its leading 55p per minute flat rate roaming rate for European countries and for the USA and Canada, up to 63% cheaper than competitor rates then prevailing.  

As the official mobile sponsor of the FIFA World CupTM T-Mobile is also unveiling exclusive services for all customers wanting to get closer to the action.

Get the video:  Exclusive video content and picture alerts of FIFA World Cup matches plus classic FIFA World Cup and England moments.

Get the phone : An exclusive edition of the official mobile phone of the England team at 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany (Samsung E370) as issued to the England squad for use throughout the tournament. The handset is pre-loaded with England animations, Three Lions wallpapers and video clips of famous England moments.

Keep in touch: In association with the Football Supporters’ Federation, T-Mobile is delivering the first ever free England Fans Information Text Service. Customers of any network will have free access to essential information whilst in Germany, including up-to-the-minute information on travel, ticket availability, team line-ups, local accommodation, plus police and Home Office advice.

Win tickets: In World Cup competitions, T-Mobile is giving 86% of the World Cup match tickets it receives as a lead sponsor as prizes for its customers.  Footie fans can access these tickets via competitions in newspapers and magazines as well as on its online World Cup website www.t-mobile.co.uk/FIFAworldcup

Get pitch-side: Competition winners also have the chance to get 'backstage' access to the FIFA World Cup by going behind the scenes with FIFA Officials, with the highlight of being pitch side as the teams warm up and take to the field for the match.  

Go by bus: A T-Mobile FIFA World Cup Tour Bus is offering further competition winners the chance to travel to the World Cup.  Its fleet of specially kitted out World Cup Tour Buses will take fans to Germany and the heart of the World Cup
